Radic di Mont

Carnia is above nature, dairy products, artisanal products that come from the skill of our craftsmen sources that use products resulting from our rich land.

 

Today we offer the Mont Radic (Radicchio di Montagna) whose scientific name is Cicerbita Alpina.

 

In the first weeks of May, still soaked pastures of water produce large amounts of Radic: sprouts of a particular color purple, more or less intense according to the land, and cute, thanks to the cold. The harvest lasts 15 or 20 days and is controlled and regulated.
This very traditional harvest is also practiced in other small areas of the Alps, but in Carnia tradition retain Radic in oil to prolong the consumption throughout the year.
