Raveo

Raveo is one of the smallest villages in Carnia, called the "Bomboniera" (Favour Box) of Carnia for its pleasant location: softly lying on a gentle slope at the foot of Mount Sorantri that with its offshoots surrounds and protects it. The village is the ideal starting point to discover the Val Degano and its many surprises.
The historical centre of the village, gathered around the neoclassical parish church, is to be discovered slowly, walking among its ancient roads with a rustic flavour, while the surrounding area offers different itineraries to be covered on foot or by mountain bike.

Raveo is a village that allows you to rediscover the spirit of the mountain, where views and architecture, gastronomy and customs, landscapes and traditions have been kept intact through the centuries. It is a place of wide natural spaces, at times still wild, of great charm, in which to enjoy a genuine, simple, sometimes basic, hospitality, which is however able to transmit authentic values. Its territory extends from the fraction of Esemon di Sopra to the 2,064 m of Col Gentile with an extraordinary landscape and environmental variety, with many historical, cultural and natural points of interest. An area where guests can enjoy the beauty, tranquillity and magic of unique places, like the 17th century complex of the Franciscan convent (unique in the region), the Valdje plateau "the valley of God", Luvieis, Pani and Col Gentile, places that with their profoundly soothing and relaxing atmosphere embrace you and make you feel in harmony with yourself and nature.

All this finds its culmination in the event "Flavours of Carnia" that for over twenty years has been promoting the dissemination and sale of natural products, packaged and stored according to typical recipes of our land. For example, you should try the renowned "Esse", biscuits prepared according to an ancient and very enjoyable recipe and the famous local buckthorn syrup.
